Bill Protects Renters Caught in Squeeze Due to Foreclosure

Congress passed legislation which prevents landlords facing foreclosure from evicting renters. The bill allows renters to stay in their homes for 90 days after the foreclosure notice. The bill is designed to prevent the eviction of tenants who pay their rents but could lose their homes because their landlord’s property fell into foreclosure. The bill extends the same protection to voucher holders.
